Fire
guts the popular Lafia timber market, along UAC road, Lafia, Nasrawa
state, leaving over ten shops burnt down to ashes. No life was lost.
An eye witness said the inferno started at about 2am and lasted about some hours while the remote cause cannot be ascertain.
The timber markets which is one of the biggest timber market in the state is also the source of income to the state government and a great loss for some of the affected marketers in that area, speaking to one of the traders he says " my whole shop was razed down by this fire which no one can ascertain it cause,
i just don't know if that's how my own new year go start, i just ask an pray the
government to intervene and help in this situation, cause i just came back from Christmas holiday"
Fire service, police and others were at hand giving helping hands to make sure it don't cause more damage.
